Welcome to the online portfolio of Marcin Bober, an interaction designer specializing in clean, simple, and easy-to-use interfaces for the web and mobile devices.
In brief
- I am an interaction designer with a PDEng in HCI, an MA in psychology.I am currently finishing my PhD thesis about trust on online auction sites, in which I integrated knowledge from human-computer interaction, cognitive science, sociology, and behavioral economics. During my professional career I have designed interfaces for a startup, set up an UX team for the web company and conducted consumer research both in business and academic environments.
- I have experience in creating standards compliant web interfaces using HTML5, CSS, Flash/ActionScript, and Javascript (both pure and using frameworks such as jQuery and Raphael).
- I am specialized in grid-based, minimalistic, typographically sophisticated layouts using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
- Since I am a combination of designer, researcher, and geek I quickly find a common language with people from different backgrounds and feel very comfortable in multidisciplinary teams.
- I am actively involved in the user experience community. I was one of the creators and editors of Usability.pl, first UX webzine in my country. I've published several articles and organized professional events. I was a student volunteer at CHI2004, local ambassador for UXnet, member of ACM SIGCHI and ISOC.
Projects
Goldfish is a web-based system which supports sports coaches in training planning and evaluation. Our team used the Rapid Contextual Design process to gather and analyze requirements. We conduct extensive user studies involving the best sport centres in Belgium and the Netherlands. Tlenofon. I was responsible for designing a new, user-friendly web control panel for one of the most popular VoIP services on the Polish market (over 1 million users).
